Washington Bicentennial Talent Show Winners

Washington’s 10-day Celebration got underway Friday evening with the Bicentennial Talent Show on the Bandstand at East Side Park.   Contestants were divided into youth, teen, and adult divisions with each winner taking home a $150 prize.  Runner-ups received $50.

Judges for the evening were Joe Howard, Nancy Adams, Jenn Hembree-Stoll, and R.J. Key.   Opening the show was former Daviess County Has Talent Winner, Kienon Delph.   The winner of the Youth Division was Celeste Santiago who sang “Piece by Piece”, the runner-up was Ethan Armstrong who performed a magic act.  The Teen Division winner was Kaelyn Klopfenstien, who played the piano and sang “Never Alone”.  Runner-up was Ariel DeMotte who sang “God Bless America”.   In the Adult Division, Nathan Richardson was the first place winner playing the guitar and singing “You and Me”.  The runner-up was Michelle Potts who sang “I Will Trust in You”.   The Bicentennial 10-day Celebration continues all this week, with the July 4celebration at the park. leading up to the parade and downtown festival on Saturday, and Community Fun Day at the Park on July 10.  For a complete list of events, and details about special activities for kids, check the Bicentennial website at www.200plusproject.com.
