Additional Charge for Plainville Man

An additional felony charge has been added to the counts against a Plainville man involved in a late Monday night accident in northern Daviess county. 

19-year-old Bobby Hodges has received additional charges as a result of a two car accident at County Road 650 E and 800 N, late Monday night.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office saus the accident occurred when 31-year- old Cletus Yoder was traveling northbound on CR650E, approaching CR800N. Hodges was traveling westbound on CR800N and failed to stop at the stop sign. Yoder’s vehicle veered off the roadway and hit a tree head on and then spun counter-clockwise 180 degrees and came to rest facing southbound in a yard belonging to Laverne Knepp. After hitting Yoder’s vehicle, Hodges vehicle hit the house of Laverne Knepp. Hodges was treated at Daviess Community Hospital and tested positive for THC/Marijuana. Yoder and his 3-year- old son were treated at the scene. Yoder’s 7-year- old and 9-year- old sons were transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital then flown to Evansville Hospital for treatment of their injuries. 

Hodges was transported to the Daviess County Security Center and where he was initially charged with 2 counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and one alcohol offense charge. Hodges now faces an additional felony count of Operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing a serious bodily injury. He was released from the Security Center on a $7,500 bond.
