Lance Dietsch named and honorary police officer

Sgt. Greg Dietsch’s son named Honorary Officer 101.

 

 

Prior to Monday night’s Washington City Council meeting, there were two special introductions. Asst. Police Chief Trent McWilliams brought many in the audience to tears as he named Lance Dietsch, as an honorary member of the Washington Police Department.  Mayor Wellman read a proclamation declaring Lance to be honorary officer No. 101.   Lance’s father, WPD Sgt. Greg Dietsch, carried the new honorary officer as he was congratulated by members of the City Council.  8 year old Lance was born with a very rare chromosome disorder, partial trisomy 6 and partial monosomy 18.

Also last night… Mayor Joe Wellman introduced Clayton Andry as the City’s newest police officer.  Andry, a native of Washington and a graduate of Washington high school, said he always wanted to be a police officer.   Following Andry’s introduction
