Loren Jacob Stutzman of Montgomery, passed away  May 6

 

 

 

Loren Jacob Stutzman, 39, of Montgomery, passed away at 8:22 a.m. May 6, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville after a five month fight with cancer.

 

He was born on October 3, 1976 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Enos and Margaret (Billington) Stutzman.

Loren graduated from North Daviess High School in 1995 and from Nashville Auto Diesel College in 1996. He worked hard in his career as a mechanic and enjoyed using his skills to help people until becoming disabled in 2012.  He then started his second career as a stay at home dad to his children.  He treasured his time with his children over the past four years, as each of them brought joy to his life daily. He was a generous person, loyal friend, loving father, and devoted husband.

 

He attended Antioch Christian Church and was an active member of the Man Up group.

 

Loren was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (Billington) Stutzman; grandparents, Otis and Marie Billington and Jake and Emma Stutzman.

 

He married Verda Knepp on October 4, 1997.   Together they helped raise, mentor and provide for seven young people that consider Loren an Honorary Father.  They are Derrick Knepp, Lisa Knepp, Ashton Wagler, Shannon Knepp, Dayton Eric Stutzman, McKenzie Mascorro, Selena Mascorro.  He and Verda had four children Brynlyn Olivia 7, Jaykob Martin 6, Noah Curtis 3, and Nickolas Paul 3.  Denny Toy was a special friend and provided fatherly support over the past sixteen years.

 

Loren is also survived by his siblings, Bonita (Swartzentruber) Knepp; Regina (Stutzman) Edwards; James Stutzman; and Nevin Stutzman who were raised by his loving step-mother,Orpha Stutzman.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Antioch Christian Church in Washington. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church.
