You can vote today at the Daviess County Courthouse……
The Daviess County Clerk’s offices will be open today (Saturday) from 8 am to 3 pm for persons wanting to cast their vote ahead of next Tuesday’s primary election in Indiana. The deadline for absentee voting is noon Monday.
Daviess County Republicans have some contested races on the local ballot.
Republican voters will choose their candidate for County Commissioner District 1. Incumbent Dan Jones is challenged by the Daviess County Highway Department’s Tom McCracken. Four Republicans are running for three At Large County Council seats. All of the incumbents, Mike Sprinkle, Jo Ann McCracken and Jo Arthur are running again. The other candidate is Kent Norris. The top three vote getters will be on the November Ballot. Another local GOP race of interest is Shawn Gabhart challenging current Daviess County Surveyor Dennis Helms for that position.
