Weather sirens in Bicknell are temporarily not working

With the possible threat of severe weather, Bicknell residents are advised that the city’s tornado warning siren is temporarily out of service.

Knox County Emergency Management officials are encouraging residents to sign up for the CodeRED system, which sends an alert to home phones, mobile devices and emails in case of emergencies.

The Vincennes Sun Commercial says the Bicknell tornado sirens are being moved from the roof of the building behind city hall to the current fire station.  An installation date has not been determine.  Bicknell’s mayor says thare working on getting the siren put up temporarily on a utility pole.  But again, until that happens, residents should sign up for CodeRED to stay informed.  You can go to the Knox County Emergency Management’s Facebook page and find a link to a site that will help you sign up.
