Man arrested after nearly hitting a state trooper in Martin County

 

A Shoals man was jailed after nearly crashing head on into a state trooper patrol car at just after 4 Sunday afternoon.

State Police report that while on US 50 east of Shoals, Trooper Ross Johnson saw a black 2013 Silverado speeding and partially in the trooper’s lane.  Trooper Johnson had to swerve to avoid a crash.  He turned stopped the driver.  50-year-old Paul Davis of Shoals was found to be allegedly intoxicated.  He was arrested for operating while intoxicated refusal and taken to the Martin County Jail.
