A Gibson County man has been jailed in Martin County after a vehicle theft in Pike County.
ON STAR contacted the Martin County Sheriff’s Department yesterday morning reporting a stolen vehicle had been shut down by the service in Loogootee but the driver ran away. Loogootee police saw the driver and put out a description.
He was eventually caught near the CO-OP.
34-year-old Danny C. Riley II of Francico was apprehended at 1:30pm and after being cleared at a hospital was taken to Pike County and charged with vehicle theft.
Loogootee Schools were locked down for a time due to the incident. Authorities say they believe there was no threat to the school, the lockdown was instigated as a precaution.
