Edwin Eugene “Gene” Eaton, 88, of Plainville, IN went to his Heavenly Home on March 3, 2016. He was born on March 9, 1927 in Plainville to the late Edgar and Mary (Webber) Eaton. He was a 1945 graduate of Plainville High School. On October 19, 1947 he married the love of his life Hazel Leola (Porter) Eaton. Gene had a passion for farming, and loved it all of his life. He was a Bogard Township Advisory Board Member and was on the 4-H Board of Directors. He was a member of Parkview Christian Church.
Gene is survived by his wife Hazel Leola (Porter) Eaton; sons Dennis Gene Eaton (Janet), Terry Ray Eaton (Becky), and Jay Douglas Eaton; grandchildren Amy Miske, Andy Eaton, Beth Wolford, Sarah Eaton, Kelly Eaton, and Kevin Eaton; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers Max Eaton (Jodie), Darrell Eaton (Janet); sister Olive Lawyer; and sister-in-law Linda Courtney (Bob). He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Norman Eaton (Vonnell), Bill Eaton (Margie); brother-in-law Ray Lawyer.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00am at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Pastor Alfred Helms officiating. Internment will be at Plainville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 10:00-11:00am both at Gill Funeral Home.
