Frederick M. Doyle, 66, of Loogootee, passed away at 5:09 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center.

He was born March 2, 1949 in Washington, IN to the late Frederick A. and Rose Anna (Howard) Doyle.

Fred married Francie (Strange) Doyle on August 3, 1968 and she survives.

He graduated from St. John Catholic High School. Fred worked as a woodworker at Crane for 26 years. After his retirement from Crane he managed the Loogootee Knights of Columbus #732 for several years.

Fred was a member of the Loogootee Knights of Columbus where he served as a past Grand Knight and was a member of the 2nd Degree Initiation Team. He also was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred A. and Rose Anna Doyle; sister, Mary Ann (John)Volz; sister-in-law, Cathy Doyle; brother-in-law, Doyle Howard.

Fred is survived by his wife, Francie Doyle of Loogootee; sons, Alan (Michelle) Doyle of Batesville, IN. and Ian (Erin) Doyle of Jasper; daughters, Leslie Doyle of Loogootee, Jill Doyle of Wake Forest, NC. and Erin Doyle of Evansville; brothers, George (Gloria) Doyle of Moores Hill, IN. and Joe (Kathy) Doyle of Greenwood, IN.; sisters, Rita (Terry) Doyle of Tweed, Ontario and Betty (Ray) Winklepleck of Odon; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons;brothers-in-law, Tim (Alice) Strange, Tom Strange, of Loogootee and Ed Strange of Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Karen Norris, Joan (Leo) Haag, Kay Love, all of Loogootee; many nieces and nephews; and his fury “little buddy”, Barnaby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant Rev. Leo Kieselat 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee with a Knights of Columbus Service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist for masses or National Jewish Hospital, 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO 80206.
