Daviess County Recorder Jamie Chapman has filed for re-election.

Chapman says she has a total of 10 years experience in the Recorder’s office, including the last four as the elected Recorder. She feels that experience plus her work in the banking industry has helped in her first term as Recorder.

Chapman says in her first term, the office added two new online services to better assist the taxpayers of Daviess County.  Doxpop online access makes all searchable records in the office available with a free sign-up.  In addition, taxpayers and landowners can set up email alerts on property owned by themselves or family members with Doxpop Property Watch.

Chapman says her office is now in the process of acquiring new equipment that will allow Daviess County to electronically scan all of its large plat books to ensure that none of the County’s valuable information is ever lost.  The equipment is being paid through the Recorder’s Perpetuation Fund, which is funded by money collected through user fees charged by the office as allowed by state law.

A lifelong Republican, Chapman has served the Republican Party at various times as President and Treasurer for the Daviess County Republican Women.  In addition, she is a member of the Education Committee for the Indiana Recorder’s Association.
