Arrest made in weekend crash on 231

A Jasper man has been arrested in connection with a crash on Sunday January 17th in Martin County.

On that morning, state police responded to a vehicle down an embankment north of the Haysville Bridge on US 231.  No one was around the ’92 Explorer and the license plate and vehicle identification plate had been removed.

The investigation led to the registered owner of the vehicle on Wednesday says they had loaned the Explorer to 35-year-old David Siquenza Contreras of Jasper.  He had allegedly lost control and crashed and left the scene because of the cold weather.  Troopers learned Contreras had removed the plates.  He was arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail on several charges.
