It didn’t take a week for Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz to give his answer on whether he would agree to a special election to settle the dispute over who is to be the mayor of Jasper. Democrat challenger Wayne Schuetter and Seitz tied in the November election and a recount commission declared Seitz the winner last week by one vote.  Schuetter this week asked incumbent mayor Seitz to agree next week to a special election for the mayor seat due to the one ballot being thrown out on a technicality.  However, Seitz said that “the determination of the duly appointed recount commission is final.” When asked if he would go all the way to the Indiana Supreme Court to fight it, Schuetter responded, “I’m willing to be the poster boy for this effort.”
