Norma Jean Willis, 86, Noblesville formerly of Petersburg

Norma Jean Willis was born March 29, 1929 in Petersburg, IN to parents Oval and Oma Decker and died December 21, 2015 in Noblesville, IN. Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters; Lucille Roberson and Shila Johnson. She is survived by a brother; Allen Decker of Cutler, IN.

Norma was married for 70 years to her high school sweetheart; Orace Wayne Willis, son of Floyd and Inez Willis of Pike County IN. She is survived by her husband who resides in Noblesville, Indiana and 6 children; Millicent Thompson of Marion, IN; Marsha Black of Greensburg, IN, Aron Willis of Marion, IN; Carol Bowden of Westfield, IN; Stephen Willis of Leavenworth, IN; and Deborah Andrews of Ft. Myers, Fl; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was the great granddaughter of Methodist circuit rider, Rev. John Wesley Decker, who served circuits in Pike and Gibson counties IN. Alongside her husband, they served the Wesleyan Church in various ministry assignments for 60 plus years.

Among the many qualities Norma Jean is remembered best for was her devotion to Christ ; her love and commitment to her husband and family; her quiet and gentle demeanor; her culinary skills; and her tireless and gracious hospitality. She left her family with a legacy of enduring faith and dedicated service to others.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Southwind Wesleyan Church ,1782 Troy Rd. Washington, IN. 47501. There will be a service conducted by Dr. Aron P. Willis following the visitation. Norma will be laid to rest in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery of Petersburg. Arrangements entrusted to Gill Funeral Service.
