FEDS ARREST LINTON MAN IN CASE THAT STARTED IN DAVIESS COUNTY
Federal investigators say 20-year-old Kenneth McCarter of Linton sent threatening texts to seven minors and two adults–demanding they text nude photos of themselves in return. He is charged with seven counts of extortion and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
According to the Washington Times Herald the investigation began in Daviess County in June and involved a 19 year old female.
Daviess County authorities this summer filed a misdemeanor count of harassment through social media against McCarter.
In the meantime Indiana State Police, FBI, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Barry County Michigan Sheriff’s Department were also conducting investigations into McCarter’s online activities. Last week federal officials pulled the Daviess County case.
Daviess County Deputy Mark Bledsoe told the Times Herald it appears McCarter was doing thing much worse than social media harassment..and the Daviess County case helped the other investigators make some of the connections.
CANNELBURG MAN JAILED IN GIBSON COUNTY
A Daviess County man was clocked traveling over 100 miles an hour Friday morning in Pike and Gibson Counties.
According to State Police, as troopers were patrolling I69 near the 41 mile marker, a red Dodge Neon was clocked at 114 miles an hour. The trooper caught up with the driver at the 36 mile marker in Gibson County.
51-year-old Edwin Harris of Cannelburg was arrested after being found to have a blood alcohol content of .14%. He’s charged with DUI with a prior conviction and reckless driving. He was being held without bond at the jail in Princeton.

-23-year-old Lucas Cunningham of Loogootee was arrested for two counts of dealing meth. He posted bond after he was booked into the Daviess County Security Center on the charges at just before 3 on on Friday.
-Jason Wingler of Washington was jailed Friday at 8:02-pm. The 40 year old is charged with public intoxication and criminal conversion.
-25-year-old Michael Walter Seals of Washington was arrested overnight for DUI. He was booked into the jail in Washington just before 3-am. Bond was set at $2000.
