Stay safe while Christmas shopping in stores and at home

safety-first-rules

The holidays can be a very hectic time, and in the rush taking simple safety precautions can be overlooked. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Indiana State Police are reminding Hoosiers to keep safety in mind when shopping in stores and online this holiday season. Some important reminders when making purchases online: only shop on well known sites and make sure they are security enabled, be cautious of offers online…if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, and set strong passwords. While shopping in stores, be aware of your surroundings. Take time to identify exits and have a plan in case children become separated. Keep your receipts from both online and in store purchases.
