Washington’s City Council met with a short agenda, and an equally short meeting Monday evening.  Council President Jerry Sidebottom presided in the absence of Mayor Joe Wellman.

The council approved a transfer of funds in the Transit budget.  Street Commissioner Ernie Evans said the funds would be used to upgrade the security cameras on the city buses.   The council also approved the 2016 holiday schedule for city workers.

Bicentennial Steering Committee Co-chairman Don Spillman reminded the council that the city’s Bicentennial begins this Saturday with the kick-off banquet.  There are a few banquet tickets still available at the Chamber of Commerce office.
