A Washington man escaped serious injury in a collision in Dubois County Monday.

However, the two vehicles involved in the 5:30-pm crash were totaled.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says that 52-year-old Darrel Kelsey of Velpen was driving eastbound on 56 west of Dubois County Road 750-west. He told deputies he either blacked out or had a seizure and he drove his 2000 Chevy passenger car left of center.  Meanwhile, 58-year-old William Russell of Washington was driving west on 56 in a 2002 Chevy truck when a collision occurred.

Both drivers refused medical treatment at the scene.
