Daniel P. Lannan, 84 of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital of Vincennes. Daniel was born July 28, 1931 in Loogootee, IN. to the late Joseph and Mary (Melton) Lannan.
Daniel was a well- known general contractor who built homes in Daviess, Martin, and surrounding counties, including homes for each of his children. He took a great deal of pride in his work and enjoyed spending time with his family. Daniel was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, and The American Legion Post #120. He served from 1951 until 1953 in the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.
Daniel was married to the late Alice B. (Devine) Lannan for 57 years, marrying June 25, 1955. Survivors include; three children, Lisa Lee (Rory) , Lori Chattin (Scott) , and Daniel Lannan (Laura); grandchildren, Misty Goble( Tony) , Abby Hale( Jay) , Trent Chattin, Brogan Lee, Madison McAnelly (Justin), and Luke Lannan; great-grandchildren, Alice Ann Goble, Jaxon Daniel Hale, Jonah Joseph Hale, Jace Nicholas Hale, and Hudson Scott Goble; siblings, Rose Ann Butler-Arney, Wilma Sinnott, Paul Lannan, Clifford J. Lannan, William A. Lannan, John C. Lannan, Robert M. Lannan, and James F. Lannan.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and great-grandson, Gavin Goble; and five siblings, Donald R. Lannan, Thomas J. Lannan, H. Catherine Gilley, Mary A. Arney, Caroline S. Clements.
Visitation will be at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St. 47501 on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. There will be a mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10:00A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann and Miss Yvonne Evans officiating.
