It’s swearing in day for new Daviess County Commissioner Dan Jones.
.Jones says one project he would like to eventually pursue concerns the stop light at US 50 and State Road 257. He alluded to the numerous accidents, some tragic, that have occurred at that intersection due to what he says is a quickly changing traffic light.. There are skid marks where motorists have had to stop quickly to obey the light.
Jones says he’ like to see a warning light telling motorists of the changing light. He got the idea from a warning light at a similar bypass in Muscatine (musk-a-teen) Iowa…….
Jones says if the warning light is not flashing, then a driver knows they can make the light.
Jones was sworn in at the Daviess County Courthouse this morning. He’ll finish out the term of District 1 which is up for election in the general election next year. Jones says his name will be on the ballot.
