Linda Strosnider and Jeff Norris of Washington and Stan Jochum of Jasper have been named Junior Achievement’s Volunteers of the year.

Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana relies on volunteers to foster work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills to Kindergarten through 12th grade students.  The program uses learning by experience to help inspire the students to reach their potential.

Program officials says they celebrated a successful 2014-2015 fiscal year thanks in part to the dedicated volunteers.

Linda Strosnider has helped Junior Achievement in many ways through the years.  She was employed in 2012 as a Program Manager covering Dubois, Daviess, Pike and Knox Counties.  She retired a few years ago but stays active volunteering in Daviess and Dubois Counties.

Jeff Norris  has been volunteering for JA since 2002.  In the beginning it was just him in Daviess County as he recruited volunteers and raised dollars for JA programs all by himself.  He has served as the chair for JA in Daviess County when the advisory board was created in 2009 and still continues today

Stan Jochum began teaching at Jasper High School in 1974 where he piloted their first JA Company Program, which still continues 40 years later. He has received a Life Time Achievement Award in Dubois County for his contributions to JA in Dubois County.
