Frank A. “Bud” Howder

Frank A. “Bud” Howder, 80, of 1411 Ed Dukes Dr., Vincennes, passed away at 7:10 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Deaconess Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. Bud was born on January 17, 1935 in Knox County to Darvin Frank and Goldie Faye (Peach) Howder. Bud owned and operated Bud’s Heating and Air Conditioning and belonged to the Wellspring Worship Center in Henderson, Kentucky. Bud had a heart of a servant as he was always helping his sisters in the nursing home along with other residents there and always helping the more disadvantaged, especially children. His favorite pastimes included, camping, boating, fishing with his grandchildren, and spending time outdoors. Surviving is his daughter, Jan (Allen) Woehler of Evansville; his companion of many years, Ann Howder; a step daughter, Lucy Spangler of Evansville; Andrea Lange whom her served as a beloved Mentor ; sisters, Helen Carson of Vincennes, Luella Brown of Vincennes, Fern Miles of Indianapolis, Esther Stewart of Vincennes, and Shirley Gray of Vincennes. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stephanie Lancaster, Kyle Hedrick, Nathan Hedrick, Jonathon Hedrick, Blake Howder, and Brittney Howder; and his great grandchildren, Owen Lancaster, Landon Hedrick, Elliot Lancaster, Ian Lancaster, and Hannah Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine (Miles) Howder; a son, Bradley Howder; a daughter, Tracey Howder; three sisters, Vivian Parker, Katie Holloway, and Dixie Howder; and his great granddaughter, Amelia Lancaster. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Murray officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until the service on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
