Republican caucus to name new commissioner is October 15th

Several people are vying for the Daviess County Commissioner seat vacated by long time commissioner Tony Wichman who stepped down due to employment reasons this month.

The Washington Times Herald reports four people have filed the paper work to be considered for the job.  They are;  Kristen Miles, James Derrick Clarke, former commissioner Bill Killion and Dan Jones. Others have expressed interest and are expected to file for the position.

Republican leaders will hold a county wide caucus on October 15th to name a new commissioner.

Anyone wanting to run to fill out the term of the vacant county commissioner’s seat can pick up a packet of information in the Daviess County Clerk’s Office 812-254-8679 or they can contact Republican leader Jan Schuler-Hicks.
