Martin County Senior Citizen Housing has received a total of a million dollars in grant funds to pay for the rehabilitation of 42 housing units in Loogotee at the East and West Court.

The grants come after four years of applying for the funds.  Half of the money comes from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and the other half from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.  In addition, a loan has been taken out from German American which will be used on the project. In addition German American Bank donated over $9000 dollars for the work.

Windows, doors, new heating and air conditioning systems, appliances, insulation and more will be restored or added.  Two units in the West Court will also be made ADA accessible.

Martin County Senior Citizen Housing worked with Southern Indiana Development Corporation, Hoosier Uplands, USDA Rural Development and Midwest Engineers in securing the funds.
