Five people were arrested by Indiana State Police following a drug investigation in Monroe City Friday morning.  The arrests stem from a four month long investigation in Knox and Daviess Counties.

53-year-old Benjamin Arnold Jefferson is charged with dealing in methamphetamine. Jefferson is also facing additional counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a violent felon, possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.

Also arrested were 41-year-old Annette Marie Mize and 30-year-old Jennifer Michelle Hartley both of Monroe City, 41-year-year-old Timothy Lindauer of Vincennes and 27-year-old Levi Hinkle of Bicknell on various charges including possession of meth.

All five are being held in the Knox County Jail.

In April 2015, Trooper Mitchell Wier and Washington Police Department Officer Brandon Garland began an investigation from information they had received during a traffic stop in Washington.  That information led them to believe that a methamphetamine manufacturing operation was occurring at two Knox County addresses.

At around 3-am on Friday,  Trooper Wier, Officer Garland, and troopers from the Evansville Post simultaneously arrived  at 7280 South Hickory Corner Road, and at 1212 Buchanan Street in Monroe City.  On Hickory Corner road they spoke with Lindauer and conducted a search.  They found meth and paraphernalia.  Lindaur, Hinkle and Hartley were arrested there.
Meanwhile on Buchanan Street, officers spoke with Jefferson and Mize.  Police smelled chemical odors and 6 “one-pot” meth labs were found along with finished methamphetamine, manufacturing precursors, and drug paraphernalia. Jefferson and Mize were then placed into custody
