County Council begins hearing budget requests

budget-2-2

The Daviess County Council started budget hearings on Wednesday

The Council considered additional appropriations for mandated raises for the sheriff, prosecutor and judges.   That raise will likely be 2.3 percent.

For all other employees, the council is considering funding a $1500 raise for county workers.

Budgets presented to the council were close to identical from last year with a few increases anticipated for construction at the landfill and for the presidential election next year.

Also considered were additional appropriations for right-of-way, adult probation user fees, County Highway reimbursement from the WestGate TIF district, and additional funds for boater safety education.
