Final JLUS meeting is tonight at Westgate

The last round of Joint Land Use Study aka JLUS public meetings is tonight at Westgate Academy near Odon.

JLUS is a cooperative land use planning effort conducted as a joint venture between a  military installation, surrounding cities and counties, state and federal agencies, and other affected stakeholders.   It’s an 18-month study funded through a federal grants and contributions from  Daviess, Martin, Greene, Lawrence and Sullivan Counties.

The public is encouraged to attend tonight’s 6-pm meeting.

Feedback is being sought on on promoting land use “compatibility and collaboration” at Crane and the Lake Glendora Test Facility.   Ways to reduce current and possible future issues among Crane and local community will be determined through the study.

The focus of the forum is to give an overview and explanation of the JLUS process.  There’ll also an overview of the NSA Crane and Lake Glendora Test Facility mission to better understand the military mission and its associated impacts in the project study area.
