Glenn Aaron Newton, 81, of Washington, went to his heavenly home Friday.

Glenn was born April 1, 1934, to Dola and Roma (Hamilton) Newton in Pike County. He graduated from Washington High School. On Aug. 22, 1953, he married Pat Newton. He was a member of Bethel North United Methodist Church. Glenn was a leader of Boy Scouts, a gardener, and loved to play softball and watch Hatchet basketball games. Glenn drove a school bus for more than 25 years for the Washington Community Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Newton of Washington; his daughter, Karen Helms (Terry) of Bloomington; his sons, Glenn Newton Jr. (Sandy) of Houston, Texas, and Rick Newton (Susie) of Washington; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Harvey Newton.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Gill Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Mowery will officiate the service at 10 a.m.Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
