Lonnie Survance

Lonnie Survance, 68 of Loogootee passed away on Thursday July 16th at his home.

 

He was bornJanuary 13, 1947 to the late James and Violet (Hitt) Survance in Albion, IL.

 

Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Army. He spent two years in Germany during the Vietnam War.

 

He held various jobs throughout his life. He was on a coalmine reclamation team, a farmer and an employee of the Martin County Highway Department.

 

Lonnie enjoyed the outdoors, working on vehicles and restoring classic cars and tractors.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet (Hitt) Survance and brothers, Marvin and George Survance.

 

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Betty (Waninger) Survance of Loogootee; children, James (Tracie) Survance of Hawaii, Greg Survance of Jasper, Jennifer (J.R.) Vazquez of Jasper and Jason (Vickie) Survance of Shoals; grandsons, Jacob Nash, Gavin Vazquez, Casen and Silas Survance; granddaughters, Michaela Nash, Abigail Survance and Tori Survance; sisters, Phyllis (Leroy) Jones of Bennet, IL and Debbie Survance of Jasper.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 atMt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home.
