Geraldine Ferrell Ford, 98, of Washington, was escorted by angels to her Heavenly home on Saturday after a short stay at Willow Manor rehabilitation unit in Vincennes. She was the second of four children, born to Thomas Jefferson and Margaret Ruth (Hayes) Cundiff on June 17, 1917, in Martin County. She attended Burns City School. On Sept. 9, 1966, she married Kenneth R. Ford. She moved to Washington in 1985 after having lived in Indianapolis for 49 years. For the last year she had been a resident of Fox Ridge Manor at Vincennes. Geraldine and her husband Kenneth formed a gospel music group in 1974, performing at churches and nursing homes for over 20 years. She was a long-time member of the Free Methodist Church and a volunteer with RSVP until age 90.

Geraldine is survived by children Betty Louise (Terry) Hart of Vincennes, Janice May Searcy of Indianapolis, and Dr. Larry Wayne (Joni) Neidigh of Orange Park, Florida. Also surviving are stepchildren Elsie (Larry) Burgess of Franklin and Joseph Poliquin III of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Kenneth; son Gerald Neidigh; her first husband Eugene W. Neidigh; stepsons Wesley Ford, Kenneth Ford, and Bill Poliquin; her sisters Irene Webster and Mary Alice Moore; her brother Thomas Russel Cundiff; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Gill Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Free Methodist Church in Washington on Wednesday at 2 p.m. (visitation beginning at 1 p.m.) with Evangelist Billy D.
