Larry D. Dillon, 71, of Washington, passed away Tuesday in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

He was born March 26, 1944, to George and Edith (Phipps) Dillon in Washington.

Larry was a Vietnam Navy veteran and worked for Arney Construction.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Kohn) Dillon, whom he married March 9, 1966; a son, Christopher (Rhonda) Dillon of Washington; a daughter, Tonya Ward of Washington; brothers Albert Eugene Dillon of Bloomfield and Robert Dillon of Loogootee; stepbrother Charles Potts of Washington; sisters Sally Sult of Bloomfield and Mary Moore of Linton; stepsisters Linda Houchin and Brenda Like, both of Boonville; four grandchildren, Trey Ward, Logan Ward, Britney Dillon and Branden Dillon; and two great-grandchildren, Kamerin Ward and Kyndal Ward.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers Nelis Dillon, Jack Dillon, Dewey Dillon and Richard Dillon; and sisters Virginia Lamb and Debbie McBride.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Southwind Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Phil Kessen officiating. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
