The National Association of Letter Carriers is holding its 32nd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive, Saturday and the local post office is participating.

Joe Fitgernald is the Customer Service Supervisor at the Washington Post office.  He says local donations go to Feed My Sheep and it’s easy to donate your non perishable items…

Fitzgerald says the local food pantry needs canned meats…

Fitzgerald says the 2nd Saturday in May is chosen as the day for Stamp Out Hunger because at this time of year donations and supplies gathered during the holiday season start to run out.  Fitzgerald says that in March Feed My Sheep served over 500 families numbering around 1500 indviduals.  Again just leave your non perishables in a sack or plastic bag  at the mailbox on Saturday.
