Another part of the Daviess County Jail will be turned over to a private company in the continued effort to improve cost and efficiency.

Stellar Services of Wisconsin will take over operation of the commissary services.

The Washington Times Herald says county officials report the cost for items in the commissary looks to be the same and the county will make 29 percent on the sales.  Stellar will also handle some automated money handling including credit card use for bonding out of jail.

Private services currently handle food service and healthcare at the jail all of which save time and money for county employees and coffers.
