Stephen R. York, 46, of Washington, passed away at 11:34 p.m. Saturday at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Born April 2, 1969, in Vincennes, he was the son of John and Jackie (Corbin) York of Sumner, Illinois.
He was a 1987 graduate of Red Hill High School in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was a truck driver and had worked for Jones and Sons Concrete. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing guitar, and as a handyman, helping others.
He is survived by his parents, John and Jackie York of Sumner; the love of his life, Teresa Braun of Washington; three children he loved as his own, Travis (Kristy) Morris of Medora, Traci (Lorenzo) Pittsley of Webb City, Missouri, and Corey (Amber) Hartley of Washington; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John York of Sumner, and Tom (Brenda) York of Otwell; two sisters, Becky (Ron) Owensby of Alabama, and Connie (Larry) Weisberger of Albion, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gill Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
