City Council met Monday

The Washington City Council heard about a new subdivision last night.  The Washington Times Herald reports that Tom Graham with GFI investments addressed the council about Gateway Crossing consisting of 10 lots to be located on 21 acres near Gateway Drive.  First reading of an ordinance allowing the subdivision was heard and read last night.

Also last night the council approved the ordinance concerning the 20 acres that Indiana Municipal Power wants to locate solar panels.  Sale of the property is still being negoitated.

Also according to the newspaper, the council held first reading of an ordinance giving the building commissioner and his secretary a stipend for handling building permits for the county.  Building Commissioner Terry Wininger said the work averages 15 hours a month.
