State police tried to stop a vehicle in Sullivan County last night.
The motorist fled after the trooper recognized the driver, 38-year-old Joseph M. Smith of Sullivan and knew he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
Smith fled west on Wolfe Street in Sullivan across US 41, to Sullivan County Road 325 west. Smith continued over various county roads and finally came to stop in the driveway of his mother’s home.
The chase lasted about 15 minutes with a maximum speed of 80 miles an hour.
Smith faces various alcohol, traffic and resisting offfenses at the Sullivan County Jail.
