Students majoring in engineering at Vincennes University will benefit under a new partnership with Purdue University.

The agreement will allow Purdue to offer the final two years of its bachelor’s degree

in engineering program on the V-U campuses.

V-U President Dick Helton says

the program will provide tremendous benefits to the region and expand opportunities for graduates seeking work in industrial manufacturing and other job related fields.

Helton says the program is designed to attract both traditional full-time students and working professionals through a mixture of distance education, traditional classroom learning and internships.

Under the proposal, faculty hired by Vincennes and approved by Purdue would teach courses at the Vincennes, Gibson County and Jasper campuses, and the universities would pay proportional shares of faculty salaries.
